WoW Alchemy Guide
In World of Warcraft most
people who train alchemy will also have the herbalism
profession as part of their character. Having this will allow
them to collect their own herbs required for use in
Alchemy, however if you choose not to go this route you
will need to purchase herbs from the auction house for a
fee. That’s
your choice, but I recommend you have herbalism as
well.
Learning the Alchemy trade will enable you
to create potions of many different kinds, some which
give buffs, some to heal and some are more fun rather
than anything else.

Now, first of all you will need to train
the basics of alchemy so this can be done via a trainer
which can be found in the big cities. Just ask one of the
town guards for directions to them and an icon will
appear on your map and mini-map to show you their
location.
There are no special items required to
train the profession other than the herbs which are
needed for the potion that you are creating. You will just require a
flask to put the potion in afterwards. To begin creating
potions you will need to find recipes, which can be found
in a few places. Either from monster
loot, chests that you will stumble upon through questing
or the easiest way is buying from another player, either
by advertising in the town chat or at the auction
houses.
Once you have potions created, you can
either save them for your own adventures or create stacks
of them and sell them for mass profit. People are always on
the look out for potions, the most popular ones that will
sell are healing and mana potions. For obvious reasons
anyway!
When
your skill level becomes higher you will be able to create a
new type of potion called an Elixir. These come in 2 different
types, offensive (Battle) and defensive
(Guardian). A
player can only consume and have in effect 1 type at a
time.
Once an Alchemist reaches level 345 they
have the option of choosing to specialize in an area of
alchemy.
They are Transmuting, Potions or Elixirs. When you choose one of
these, you have a chance each time you use your skill to
create multiple of that particular item without using any
extra herbs.
You can at any time decide to change your specialist
skill to one of the other 3, but it will cost you every
time you do it.
So to summarize my Wow Alchemy Guide,
alchemists can be very popular among guilds as well for
the help they provide for raids and battles. Especially if they have
an incredibly high level and can create the most powerful
and effective potions! Or you can just use it
as a source of income, which can prove to by very
profitable.
However, to make this the most profitable I highly
recommend you train to be a Herbalist as well to save
money on buying the resources.
I hope this WoW Alchemy Guide has helped
you understand more about this profession and good
luck.
